what are the Wimmera Machinery Field Days?
The Wimmera Machinery Field Days is an iconic three day event on the rural Australian calendar. A regional volunteer committee has managed the non-profit event, the Wimmera-Mallee’s largest annual community gathering, since 1963. The Field Days is a great success story, having developed into a self-sustaining organisation.
The event, in the first week of March, has evolved into an important and integral part of the Wimmera Mallee and acts as a barometer for social, economic, agricultural prosperity and growth in the region.
Hosted at its purpose-built site at Longerenong near Horsham in western Victoria, the event has blossomed into a large agricultural and agribusiness trade show. It is south-east Australia’s major broadacre agribusiness show, attracting patrons and exhibitors from across the country and overseas.
The Field Days is a showcase of the latest developments in farming practice, machinery, equipment, technology and services. The committee has maintained a long-term charter to foster innovation and development in primary production and agribusiness.
